Biography
Sarah M. White, MD.
Sarah M. White, MD, is board certified by both the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She was born in New Hartford, New York, and grew up in Rome, New York, Poughkeepsie, New York and Westfield, New Jersey. She graduated with Honors and Distinction from Cornell University in 1981 and received her MD degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1985.
From 1985-86, she completed her first year of an Orthopaedic surgery residency program at George Washington University. In 1991, she completed her residency in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington DC. She later served as an Attending Physician on the staff of Washington Hospital Center and the National Rehabilitation Hospital for three years. In 1994, she joined Bay Area Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in private practice. Dr. White is a member of the medical staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center and Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Her areas of interest include nerve conduction studies and electromyography(EMG's), therapeutic injections, acupuncture, independent medical evaluations, disability impairment ratings, and non-operative treatment of neurological and musculoskeletal disorders.
Dr. White has published several articles in nationally recognized medical journals, has presented research papers at both national and local medical meetings, has served on the Board of the Arthritis Foundation and is a member of the MedChi legislative committee.
She loves to ski, bike ride and travel with her 17 year old son and 12 year old daughter. Her two miniature daschunds and two guinea pigs keep the family busy.
